Irene Homes offer residential accommodation to 88 women who are intellectually disabled in six homes where the residents live with a Housemother/Assistant Housemother and Domestic Worker.
The resident homes are designed to match as closely as possible a home environment. Each of the 88 residents between the ages of 18 and 80 years has comfortable rooms, all of which are fully furnished and decorates to the liking of the beneficiary.
Living areas are equipped with comfortable furniture, a television, and board games to allow for residents to enjoy activities together with each other, and to enhance and develop skills in a playful manner.
Housemothers and other core staff are on duty 24hours a day, and are able to meet the needs of residents. In addition to this, our residents who need full time and/or additional assistance are accommodated in our Senior House, where Housemothers are assisted by Care Workers on a 24/7 basis as well as by a registered Nurse during normal working hours. After working hours and during weekends one of the registered nurses is on call together with either the Social Worker or the Occupational Therapist.
